in today's video we're going to be
unboxing setting up and provisioning a
poly CCX 700 Zoom phone our goal is to
look at this both from an admin and an
end user perspective in terms of ease of
use as well as feature functionality
stick around for the rest of the video
because this is something you definitely
want to know about

so here's our poly CCX 700 this is the
zoom phone model I'm going to move
through this a little bit quickly but
let's go ahead and open up the box and
see what we find
first thing to find is a little bit of
documentation that includes the package
contents as well as some optional
accessories inside is some quick setup
guide information
everything's neatly bubble wrapped and
the first thing we're going to take out
is the power cord
this does support Poe so this is
optional
next we're going to take out the handset
uses a standard rj11 handset cable like
you'd expect
and then we're going to move on to the
base phone this has a seven inch
multi-touch LCD display with a built-in
4 megapixel Camry that has a manual
privacy shutter on top that's red it's
nice to see on the side we have a USB a
and a USBC port for optional accessories
and then on the back let's follow out
the kickstand and you can see where the
power cable plugs in your Lan switch
Port as well as your PC switch Port your
headset port and then finally on the far
right your handset port
so here we have our phone we're going to
plug it up with a power cable and try to
connect over Wi-Fi because that's
actually an option with this poly CCX
has built-in Wi-Fi as well as Bluetooth
so we powered up and I have sped up this
video just so you're aware it's not
quite this quick
but
power up the phone it's going to go
through a brief setup you can see it
logging in now what I had to do is I had
to click on the settings
and then I had to go to system settings
which is at the main just scroll down a
little bit system settings went to basic
scroll down to the Wi-Fi menu and then I
was able to enable Wi-Fi now when you do
this the phone does automatically reboot
I don't know why they had to reboot the
phone to make wi-fi turn on seems
unnecessary to me but that is the case
so the phone reboots and it comes back
up uh to this setting checking Network
page you hit settings again go to system
settings basic Wi-Fi menu again and now
you can actually connect your Wi-Fi so I
clicked on this I pause the video so you
don't see me typing my password and hit
connect and now it's connected to the
network so I go ahead and I back out and
once I hit the X up in the upper right
corner you'll see Zoom phone is live
it's asking me to sign in I have a new
meeting or join button so let's go ahead
and jump over to provisioning
we're gonna add a common area and we're
gonna call it calling CCX 700.
demo we're going to assign this
extension 350011 we're going to give it
a phone package
and we're gonna hit save
device list
add a zoom phone Appliance
our Mac address
device type is poly
CCX 700
GX 700
demo
we're going to assign it to common area
poly
CTX 700 demo
if we wanted to assign it to a user we
could assign it to a user but we're
going to assign it as a common area
phone
for this test we're going to hit save
now we should see our phone connect
now for some reason it didn't catch the
assignments so we're going to go in and
manually add that in again
it shouldn't be the case but for some
reason it is so now whenever we click on
it it's telling us that we need to do a
factory reset for some reason I don't
want to do that though so what I'm going
to do is I'm just going to do a reboot
of the device
and after the reboot now we can see that
it's connected
okay so now the phone has been rebooted
you can see our common area line on the
right hand side we're going to give it a
test call
so here's a call coming in we'll hit the
blue answer button and now you can see
we're in a call we have our standard
options that you would have in a call
hold transfer and such we can actually
click here and actually escalate this to
a meeting so I've actually called from
my zoom client so I'm going to switch
that over and now you can see we're in
an actual Zoom meeting from the phone
uh let me turn on my video
and now you can see me from my computer
hello
we can come in here we can whiteboard a
little bit draw around uh from my PC I
also interact with the Whiteboard you
can see that up here uh here on screen
so there's my green whiteboarding from
my PC
um let's go ahead and close this
you also have in the more section here
things like captions so if you turn your
captions on this is actually a pretty
cool one it will actually start to
automatically
transcribe what you're saying both you
and the foreign participants you can see
here I'm talking and and it's
transcribing the captions on screen
that's great accessibility feature and
here you can see I've muted myself and
I'm talking from the far end from my PC
and it's still transcribing uh and
putting the words onto the local phone
so that you have that
another great feature that you have in
the meeting is chat which you're
probably not going to use a whole lot
from your desk phone but it is a feature
you can see I just sent a message from
my PC in the call and there it is so
we'll go ahead and end the meeting
through the dial pad so you can call you
also have your call history if you click
on a call history you can see when you
last spoke with them you also have a
meet and a call button but there you go
uh that's the standard Zoom phone
Appliance operating system running on
your poly CCX 700.
all right so we just finished reviewing
this poly CCX 700 series Zoom phone it
has a seven inch multi-touch LCD display
as well as a 4 megapixel built-in camera
it also features Wi-Fi and Bluetooth we
unboxed this device and then set it up
via a power brick as well as Wi-Fi to
connect back to zoom we then went into
the zoom portal and provisioned the
phone as a common area phone
once we did that we tested the zoom
phone Appliance functionality and I've
got to say I am really impressed with
this phone it worked great there were no
bugs at least that I could find if
you're considering it I would highly
recommend it

In today's video, we unboxed, set up, and provisioned a Poly CCX 700 Zoom phone. This phone model has a seven-inch multi-touch LCD display with a built-in 4-megapixel camera and supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. We connected the phone to LiveAgent, virtual call center software that makes it easy to distribute calls to offices worldwide.
We added a common area called "Calling CCX 700 Demo" with extension number 350011 and assigned the package to the Poly CCX 700 GX 700 Demo device. The Phone Appliance has a built-in Wi-Fi feature, which we enabled in the phone settings menu. After we provisioned the phone, we tested its functionality by making a test call.
The phone's standard options include hold, transfer, and more. We could escalate the call to a Zoom meeting and use the whiteboard feature to draw on the screen and interact with the participants. The captioning feature was also impressive, as it transcribed what we and foreigners were saying in real-time. Other features include call history and chat.
The Poly CCX 700 Zoom phone is an excellent device for any admin or end-user looking for ease of use and functionality. We highly recommend it if you're considering buying a phone appliance.
