hey guys it's Prince rich with Rich
Technology Group and in today's video
we're going to do an unboxing and review
of the poly Edge e220 IP phone but first
you're watching the number one channel
on all things business phone and
internet service related tips advice and
educational videos to help you make the
best buying decisions maybe even save
yourself a little money along the way so
hit that subscribe button so you don't
miss any of our new videos and so that
you're notified once new content
releases so for those of you who may or
may not know this will actually be the
first of the new poly Edge E-Series that
we have reviewed poly has a new series
called The Edge e which is now the
successor to the edge B poly has
actually sent me in transit all of the
new Edge E-Series so I will be reviewing
all of those on this channel but this
one the poly Edge e220 will be the first
of the new Edge E-Series that we review
so let's jump right into this yes all
right got a little star from there here
goes our box poly Edge e220 looks like
we've got here your typical you know
notice information about us Australia
other countries here we've got a looks
like a safety manual a little bit of
other packaging stuff here's our actual
phone look at that this is definitely
different from any of the other
polyphones that we have reviewed on the
channel typical ethernet cable here
which goes your connectivity phone
that's the first White connectivity
phone I've seen in any box for an
unboxing that we've done here on the
channel in quite some time typical
kickstand here it actually resembles the
kickstand Style on the edge B series and
then last but not least this looks to be
our handset which it actually really
does resemble the edge B series except
it's got this whole two-tone thing going
on so let's line up what we got so you
guys can see what was in the box at a
glance so here we are with our Box
contents from left to right you've got
the actual poly handset itself for the
edge e220 you've got the actual e220
desk set here itself you've got a
kickstand I'm curious to see if this is
like reversible meaning if I can adjust
the height based on just plugging this
into the back in Reverse format you've
got your typical standard Cat5e cable
that comes in here in the box and then
last but not least you've got your
actual cable that comes in the box that
connects the handset to the actual
desktop phone set itself so let's go
ahead and put this thing together and
see what it looks like all powered up
and assembled here we are with our poly
Edge e220 all put together and I gotta
say I like what I see at first glance
not only is it a really good design
that's nice to look at on the eyes it's
different it doesn't look anything like
the previous poly vvx series or the CCX
series it does look like the poly Edge B
series The One notable difference here
is the two-tone color between the
Blackish gray and the actual white it's
comfortable it's techy to me I feel like
it should be in like a hospital or a
sterile medical setting but at the same
time it also looks nice in a home office
so I like the design the other thing
that I really like about this phone is
the color screen now it resembles the
edge be a bit but for those of you who
may or may not remember when we reviewed
the edge B series those phones while
they do have a backlit screen they are
not color screen so this kind of brings
in The Best of Both Worlds where you get
the Sleek Aesthetics from The Edge B
series but you've also got a color
screen here as well which is a nice
touch so let's take a look at the
buttons and the typical interfaces on
the front of the phone so it looks like
here you've got four line or four line
visible capability here you've got your
typical menu layout here which I
actually had to use quite a bit because
when I cut it on it asked me a lot of
questions that I've never seen on a lot
of different polys like it made me
accept an agreement it was even asking
me about time zone the menu buttons and
whatnot and the way that you navigate
here like your home your back and your
menu navigation it looks pretty much the
same as your Edge B series so nothing
new or unusual there you've got stuff
like put a call on hold call transfer
and your volume buttons up and down on
the left and then you've got your
typical numeric keypad you've also got
your headset button here and then this
looks like this is also your
speakerphone button here to be able to
enable and disable the speakerphone and
then last but not least you've got your
mute button here looking at our handset
itself I'm pretty sure that this
supports Polly's signature HD voice even
though it doesn't actually say HD voice
on it I'm pretty sure this supports it
as well because this is a bit more of a
premium phone than the edge B series
phones from what I understand nice
headset I mean it's not too heavy but it
feels quality I won't call go as far as
saying it's rugged but it seems like it
can deal with the everyday usage of a
typical sales person or typical somebody
who's making a lot of phone calls you've
also got a speakerphone here which which
again is reminiscent and similar to the
new Edge B series also I just now
realized and noticed when I picked this
up it turns green you've got this light
indicator up here that's kind of cool
and this probably changes from green to
red or different colors and does
different patterns depending on what
you're doing let's flip this thing
around and see what kind of support
we've got going on you see we've got a 5
volt AC adapter Port here that did not
come in the Box by the way I want to
make that very clear so just like most
of the IP phones out there on the market
and the ones you've seen me review on
the channel if you want a power adapter
you're going to have to buy that
separately however it is poe capable it
does have a pass-through this is
actually our internet coming in and then
you do have a separate ethernet port
here to be able to come out and go to a
computer or another internet enabled
device you've also got headset support
here which looks to be an RJ9 and then
here is the actual Port where your
handset goes which we've got plugged in
as so okay so over on your right side of
the phone you do have a USB port Port
which is USBC this is actually the first
IP phone that I have ever reviewed in
this office that I'm aware of that
actually has USBC support now I don't
know or believe that this will support a
headset it might support a headset but
you've got to have either a USB a to c
adapter or a headset that is USB a
compatible and then I think you would be
set and okay in that regard okay so now
let's jump into the technical
specifications of this IP phone the
polyedge e220 but you guys are going to
want to be sure to stay till the very
end of the specs because I've got a very
special feature that I want to show you
guys because this is like next level
Cutting Edge stuff jumping into our
technical specifications this has a 2.8
inch color LCD screen that has a
resolution of 320 by 240 pixels and an
aspect ratio of 9x16 this phone of
course also supports Polly's signature
HD voice poly claims that this is good
for increased productivity because of
its easy easy to use features and it
also has an ergonomic layout this phone
also is wall mountable the phone
supports up to four line keys so that's
just like we discussed before your four
line Keys here on the left but it has
the ability for up to 16 Lines within
the software the phone also has four
context sensitive soft keys and it also
supports shared call and bridge line
appearance it does have integrated
bluetooth support for mobile and headset
pairing so that is a huge plus there
this phone also supports Polly's noise
block Ai and it also supports poly
acoustic fence technology there's of
course voicemail support and as I
suspected this light up here actually
can help indicate when you have
voicemail as well as other indicators
this phone does have multilingual
interface which I saw because it
literally says all major languages
spoken it has a two position desk stand
all you have to do is reverse the actual
kickstand on it and that will change
your two different height options this
also supports acoustic Clarity with full
duplex conversations and then do not
disturb so let's talk about that feature
that I mentioned Polly has something
coming out called near field
communication which supposedly the way
that I understand it is through your
mobile app with your provider and
through something like a QR code or a
sensor or something within the phone you
would be able to take your phone like
this and put it over top of the phone
and scan it and then now your extension
which is associated with your mobile app
is now assumed on the particular phone
that you're on so what do I think about
this phone the poly Edge e220 let's
start with the pros so I really like the
design not only do I think the design
looks really nice on the eyes it's
different it's got all the same sexy
type design earmarks of the edge B
series but I really like the two-tone
looks the other thing that I really like
about this phone is that it has a color
screen The Edge B series and all its
likeness to this phone is typically just
monochrome but it's nice that this The
Edge E Series has a color screen so
you're kind of getting the Best of Both
Worlds there again the other thing that
I like about this thing is that it has
actual bluetooth support for headsets
let's be real it's 2022 so me personally
I would go Wireless when you can so the
fact that this has Bluetooth headset
support is a huge plus the other final
Pro about this phone that I wanted to
point out is its size this thing is
actually almost the same size as the
very popular and still hard running vvx
250 which a lot of people have
previously loved the vvx250 that we
talked to because of its small footprint
on a desk one other thing I wanted to
point out is that this phone supports
microban technology which means that the
Plastics and all of the material oils
that you see on this phone is quite
literally antibacterial now this tends
to be a typical thing with cordless IP
phones because you see them in hospitals
and in medical environments and among
like Telehealth and Healthcare but poly
has gone as far as an agreement with
microban where I believe this phone and
anything new that comes out for the
foreseeable future is all made of
anti-bacterial material so my only con
and quarrel about this phone is no
built-in Wi-Fi support So if you're
looking for a phone that can connect to
Wi-Fi and doesn't need to connect to a
ethernet cable then this is probably not
going to be the phone for you okay so
for those of you who are wondering about
the price this phone is fairly new so it
was really difficult to find like a
legitimate for sale price online the
MSRP is stated at about approximately
259 U.S but I believe that you can get
this phone for around 180 and
approximately 200. of course I'll have
links in the description for you guys
below or you can go see actual price you
know and get it through our sources
providers that actually support this IP
phone that I am aware of are ring
central nextiva Vonage and dial pad so
that wraps up my unboxing and review of
the poly Edge e220 desktop iPhone as
always if you found this video helpful

smash that like button we'd really
appreciate it and of course don't forget
